Greetings!
I hope you are able to stop by room #141 this evening to take a peek at the wonderful things your children have been working on in PA! Below you will find a brief overview of some of the projects that will be featured for each grade level:
3rd Grade
Hanging in the hallway, 3PA students are featuring their National Geographic articles that were created for our text The Green Book. Students were enlisted as "field correspondents" for the magazine and were tasked with investigating the changes that occurred on Planet Shine.
In our classroom, check out the collection of comparison poems students created using a form of poetry named, Diamante. Students would also love to share with you some of our wordless picture books that we examined to uncover examples of change that validated our generalizations of change.
4th Grade
In the hallway, 4PA Watercolor Artists created beautiful portraits depicting the change the setting and characters experienced in the text, The Secret Garden.
In our classroom, students would love to share with you an important idea that was unlocked in their mind as they were reading The Secret Garden, as well as their exceptional poems that were inspired by the work of poet, Langston Hughes. Be sure to also check out the digital scrapbooks on display with information students gathered about the Harlem Renaissance time period!
5th Grade
During our study of Odes, 5PA students created their own Passion Poem inspired by Ode poetry we analyzed in class. These thoughtful and personal pieces are on display in the hallway!
In our classroom, check out the Chalk Talk posters, where small groups of students worked together to dissect an Ode. Students share their observations, thinking, and what they are wondering about their poems. Wander over to the Capstone Station and your 5PA student will log-in to our class Blog to provide you with a sneak peek of their project to be presented in May. Students' iMovie trailers were created class using our school's iPads.
I look forward to seeing you at 6:30!
